San Francisco Street Bakery
Date: Apr 03 - Apr 30, 2021
Our bakery has been operating from its original location at the corner of San Francisco and Bethel, across the street from Roosevelt Elementary School, for over thirty years. We continue our stewardship of SFSB with the addition of our second generation of owners and the ever present family of bakers, retail staff, and all of the food preparers necessary to keep the business humming.
We also have a stall at the Olympia Farmer’s Market, a community gathering place where you can buy organic produce from hard working local farmers, shop for hand made crafts, find fruit and vegetables from all over the state, or eat at the collection of food carts.
As of June 1999, we have opened our newest location, Schwartz’s, located in the heart of downtown Olympia on the corner of Fourth and Washington across the street from the State Theater. Sit and enjoy food you would find at the Bakery up on the hill, or take your treats to go. Just another heavenly body in the expanding bakery universe.
Our wholesale business supplies bread, pastries and desserts to dozens of restaurants and cafes around the South Sound including Batdorf and Bronson’s, both Olympia Food Co-ops, Chelsea Farms Oyster Bar, Solomon’s Reef, and Ralph’s Thriftway. If you are interested in selling our products at your location please contact us.
Our business model has always included doing our best to be an environmentally conscientious member of our community. We recycle and compost as much as possible and make an effort to donate all leftover bread and pastry to charitable organizations, schools, and non-profits because we believe in the work those organizations are doing and we want all of our food to be eaten- not wasted.
