An artist with an extensive background in zoology + environmental studies, Karin's work often reflects her combined passion for art, animals + science:

Karin Kraft was born and raised in Houston, TX. As a young child she collected butterflies, moths and dragonflies which were in abundance at that time. As a teenager she spent her weekends in the country observing wild animals. Subsequently Karin earned a BS in Zoology from Texas A&M University and later a Master’s of Environmental Studies from the Evergreen State College. Karin’s interests in art and science have consistently overlapped. She has taken lessons from a variety of artists including Claudia Rilling, Xiaogang Zhu, Simon Kogan, Jacqui Beck, Catherine Gill and the late print-maker, Moishe Smith. Her work of the last three years has been in oil.
