Sock Monkeys for Social Justice
:
Each Sock Monkey is lovingly handmade by Alchemilla members and comes with a name and a story. Though the names are sometimes changed, the stories are our true lived experiences in a world where we are often forced to raise our children in poverty. They raise awareness about poor people’s lived experiences and how we empower each other to overcome oppression.
The Alchemilla Feminist Economic Collaborative:
This organization is comprised of people of all genders, building an egalitarian, matriarchal business community. We support each other as we create sustainable livelihoods for ourselves, doing work we find meaningful while we care for our children and our families. Together as artists and entrepreneurs, we grow through collaboration, education, and empowerment; we inspire and encourage future enterprising people.
