We will be open 5-8 Friday night. From 5:30-7:30, we are hosting a special performance/interactive game featuring Sissy von Meow Meow and Her Forbidden Fairy Fruits.
Sissy von Meow Meow is a surrealist character/experience created by multimedia artist Kaia Selene. Part tricky kittenish slinkster, part puppet stage. In this iteration Sissy plays an interactive game with onlookers. Win the game to reveal a hidden friend, Faery Fira, who bears special edible treats! Mixed media performance includes works in paper, puppetry, costuming and food art. Sound accompaniment by musician-artist Alicia Capp.
Saturday (12-4 pm), we will be celebrating the return of the Procession of the Species with two interactive projects.
- For a small donation, you are invited to make a limited edition Procession inspired postcard on our antique printing presses.
- We will also be creating a collaborative zine inspired by the natural world.
Both days, Community Print members will be available and selling a variety of printed material created in our studio. We're happy to answer questions and talk about classes, membership options, and volunteer opportunities. We look forward to seeing you!
Community Print is a volunteer-run, community letterpress shop that has been operating out of downtown Olympia for over 25 years. A year ago, we moved into a new space at 414 Legion Way SE, (former home of Northern | Olympia All Ages Project).
