The Coast Salish Museum of Fine Arts: "FUTURE GENERATIONS"
mixed media
TCMoFA presents The Coast Salish Museum of Fine Arts, a free to enter, public exhibition of artworks created by self identified Indigenous artists. This juried art show presents a self-directed expression of contemporary Native art curated by a team of Indigenous artists and facilitated by the Thurston County Museum of Fine Arts. Curatorial team member Epiphany Couch envisioned the theme of the show Future Generations thusly: "This exhibition seeks to showcase the work of Indigenous artists who are imagining and creating futures of care, community, and joy. We are looking at artworks that address themes such as cultural preservation, environmental stewardship, social justice, generational healing, community resilience, and more. This is an opportunity for artists to express and explore their hopes, concerns, and ideas for what the future holds for Indigenous peoples and their lands.
