For the Ancestors
This painting of the animals native to our region was created by Kyle Sanchez, with the support of his relations and canoe family.

Plant Relations
This painting of the native plants in our region was created by Andrea Wilbur-Sigo, a proud member of the Squaxin Island Tribe and the SteChess family.

Artists with Ecology (AWE)
These are two of three powerful murals from the AWE mural project. The third, titled "Leschi Learning Legacy" can be viewed during Arts Walk at The Olympia Center, room 103. Each mural is lead by artists from local area tribes. These works are more than art; they are acts of placekeeping and cultural affirmation. Through vibrant visual storytelling, the murals communicate, “We are still here. We are a part of this place.” They serve as land-based statements of presence, resilience, and belonging, while honoring ancestral wisdom and relationships with the natural world. This project not only uplifts Indigenous voices but also transforms public space into a living dialogue between people, culture, and land.
