Arbutus Folk School is a community art space where community members learn how to work with materials like clay, wood, wool, glass, and stone in beginner-friendly classes designed to build creativity and connections. From single day workshops to multi-week classes, adults and youth enjoy our experience-based art and craft classes to connect with themselves and others through creativity. Each calendar year, Arbutus Folk School hosts a small cohort of artists-in-residence who spend the year making work in our studios and participating in our operations. Resident artists gain professional skills, build up their body of work, and develop their craft through access to space, equipment, and an artistic community.
