City of Olympia

Category(s):
City of Olympia supports the Arts! Since 1988, Olympia's Arts Commission has helped to make visual, performing and literary arts vital elements in the life of our community, while the ARCH initiative works to refresh and expand Olympia's efforts to deliver creative and effective public programs and support for arts, cultures and heritage.

Olympia hosts a downtown Creative District, soon to be anchored by the Armory Creative Campus. We celebrate literature with our Poet Laureate, and enhance our urban landscape through Public Art. The City-owned Washington Center, managed by a private, non-profit organization, host regional offerings and national touring performances, which the Hands on Children's Museum, similarly owned and managed, stimulates curiosity, creativity and learning through fun, interactive exhibits and programs for children, families and school groups.

Art classes can also be found through our Parks, Arts & Recreation department, and once you master your skill, you can share it with the community at Arts Walk, also a program of the City of Olympia!
