Paige Anderez, paintings, quilted textiles, flash, & tattoo consultation
About the artist:
Paige Anderez (she/her, b.1992 Port Angeles WA) is an Olympia-based interdisciplinary artist whose work centers on the concepts of home and earth, within us and around us, through the lenses of motherhood, the natural world, and our internal landscapes.
Paige primarily works as a tattoo artist, in her downtown Olympia private studio, Lowlands, and has guest tattooed in shops across the country. Pulling on her background in ecology, with a BA in Environmental Studies from Western Washington University and graduate studies in Landscape Ecology at The Evergreen State College, she is also a member of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators Northwest and provides art direction at Nisqually Reach Nature Center. Occasionally, when not mothering or tattooing, Paige further explores the intersection of art and ecology in daily life through swimming in Puget Sound or floating down creeks in the Olympics, doing daily sketches on walks, making solar dye prints, and painting on reclaimed wood. Paige’s work– whether it's sewn goods, paintings, or freelance illustration– has been featured in magazines, on podcasts, at galleries, shops, and markets across North America, and occasionally overseas.
During Arts Walk, Paige will have original paintings and quilted work up for display as well as tattoo portfolio and flash book available for viewing.
