Carol Smith Myer, oil paint
For this colorist approach, I use luscious oil paints, with deep, saturated color to interpret on canvas the nuances of color and light that I have trained my eye to ‘see’ in the World around me. Color changes according to the source of light, the surfaces and surroundings that reflect it, the atmosphere, the time of day and the season. I aim for a color vibration in my portraits, plain air landscapes and still life.
My husband and I moved to Olympia three years ago to be near our daughters, Marisa and Kaley, and families. We love the PNW and delight in the lush surroundings.
