This series created for the Fall ArtsWalk 2026 is the “school of rainbow trout” in keeping with the Quenchbucket style, the fins and tail are the customary stainless steel flatware. However the star of the show is the blown glass body’s that are in keeping with the actual colors of this particular trout species.
Quenchbucket Studio - I have been narrowing my focus on discarded stainless flatware and kitchen tools and finding new life for them. Realism plays a huge part in the total creation. I don’t want you to know it is flatware until you look closely. I have been working on creating creatures that tend to fly or swim. The forks and spoons can be transformed into feathers and scales. Finding new configurations or new norms for these utensils is always the challenge. In 2019 we moved from Connecticut to Washington and discovered the plethora of glass blowers in the PNW and now I have the glass blowing bug. Glass adds the much needed aspect of color to bring the creatures to life. Since we have moved here In 2022 I was awarded the Museum of Glass 2022 Coney Awards People’s Choice and with that came a 1 week residency with the hotshop team to make my creations. I have been awarded 2 plinths in Olympia and won “People’s Choice” giving me a featured plinth in front of the Town Hall, as well as a featured artist at The Gallery of Ocean Shores, I sold my art at Boom Gallery & every Olympia ArtsWalk since Fall 2019. Won People’s Choice at the Leonor R Fuller Art Gallery Southwest WA Regional Juried Exhibition. In summer 2025 My sculptures were featured in the “Earth / Sea” installation at Childhoods End Gallery in Olympia. Finally as of late I am the newest artist to have my sculptures at DragonFire Gallery in Cannon Beach OR.
