Presenting a groundbreaking one-night event Friday, April 24th, showcasing the innovative fusion of art and sound. Our collective of visionary artists will transform the event into a sensory journey, featuring installations and live performances that push the boundaries of creativity and technology,
featuring:

Phillip "Philco" Raves - The Entrainment Chair sound art | light | upcycled materials | immersive art
A thought-provoking installation inspired by an MIT study on the therapeutic potential of synchronized 40Hz lights and sounds. This piece explores entrainment's ability to clear neural pathways and serves as a commentary on the evolution of mental health treatment. Participants are invited to reflect on the past while embracing future possibilities through this immersive experience.

Cooper Schlegel - Lullaby Utopia sound + digital art installation
Cooper will be presenting an interactive sound-soup mix of procedural music, human-interest field recording documentation, and binaural spatial audio. This project contains interviews, sound portraits, and field recordings of Willapa Valley, where Cooper now resides. The project aims to distill and cohere as much happiness, history, and real-feel into a layered, messy, and pleasant sound tableau. Reactive digital art made of a collage of the recorded subjects highlights the sound to help make discreet all the different parts. Pressing keys on an embedded keyboard will activate different memories, sounds, places and thoughts; due to the scale of the project, listeners will be able to explore at their own pace.

Samhain "The Time Traveling Artist" - The Gateway to the Middle Path mixed media sound art installation
Samhain, inspired by dreaming, the occult, and vibrational medicine, introduces "The Gateway to the Middle Path." This installation combines sound, Rodin coils, quartz, idols, tarot, and more to create a dimensional tuning fork. Additionally, Samhain will showcase "Rheadionic Blocks" and tatwa mandala art for mental reconstruction, offering a truly unique experience.

Eric Johnson - Surveillance on Main Street papercraft | sculpture | mixed media
An interactive piece featuring a handmade periscope. Viewers can explore a cardboard diorama of an imaginary city, experiencing its sights and sounds through a voyeuristic lens. This piece invites participants to engage with the art in a playful yet thought-provoking manner.

Alfred Montez - Oobleck: The Solid That Isn't
Chicano artist and bassist Alfred Montez presents an interactive demonstration of non-Newtonian fluid, known as oobleck. This substance changes its state from solid to liquid based on applied pressure, in this case, sound. It offers a novel way to visualize sound waves, creating fascinating visuals and challenging perceptions of reality.

Harro Scharbau IV wood | metal | sculpture
Harro presents a captivating fusion of nature and artistry with his two wood sculptures, each uniquely coated with metals that blend natural wood with manmade surfaces. One sculpture features a bronze patina rootball, while the other showcases a gold leafed madrone log, both elegantly displayed on a revolving pedestal. This dynamic presentation highlights the contrast and harmony between organic forms and metallic finishes, inviting viewers to appreciate the intricate interplay of textures and materials.

Austin Davis sculpture
Austin, lesser known for his sculpting work, investigates the depths of psyche through the manipulation of space, light, and shadow. Several of these sculptures will be on display at the FREEQUENSEERSS COLLECTIVE show Friday, 25that the Mortuary

Dustin Zemel - Hologram Analogies + Action Phase Loops video art
Inspired by the early phase loops of classical musician Steve Reich, Action Series Phase Loops play with notions of novelty, experience, and re-experience to give viewers a new insight into Hollywood's most spectacular action film sequences. Each piece in the series superimposes pieces of itself upon itself, running each track at slightly different speeds. The looped and superimposed film samples provide a unique window into the intricate production techniques utilized by high-budget action films.
The looping and composites provide, initially, a jarring and surreal exposure, while the looping grounds a familiar foundation. In other words, looping provides a comfort within the dissociation from cinematic reality. Through the slow process of dissociation and realignment, viewers are soon removed from the hypnosis of narrative, and transplanted into a new cognitive realm where they have the opportunity to closely scrutinize the visual instances within the sequence with a meticulous eye comparable to that of the director.

Thaddeus Hunnicutt photography | digital art
Thaddeus has a unique style of digital art that combines his photography, scanned drawings and vector art to create a impressive graphic story of layered images often composed in Photoshop. He uses his photography of models and nature in his art to create a unique organic balance of visual styles.

Dana Brewer - Ombrophilous glass sculpture | light
"Ombrophilous" is a stunning tribute to nature, crafted as an optical glass piece elegantly mounted in stainless steel with exquisite gold leaf detailing. This artwork beautifully captures the essence of nature's resilience and beauty, with the glass and metal elements reflecting light and creating a mesmerizing visual experience. The gold leaf accents add a touch of luxury and sophistication, enhancing the overall aesthetic and inviting viewers to contemplate the harmonious relationship between natural elements and artistic expression.

About the Artists:
Phillip Raves
My journey began in the mid-1970s, evolving from traditional art making to innovative sound manipulation with portable reel-to-reel machines and rudimentary synthesizers.
My exploration extended into the realm of subliminal audio, where I discovered its subtle power to influence and engage listeners on a deeper level.
Now, my passion lies in exploring healing frequencies and the therapeutic power of sound, both mental and physical. I blend repurposed vintage technology with circuit board electronics to create thought-provoking environments filled with tones, drones, and healing frequencies.
Through my work, I aim to connect with others and delve into the profound impact of sound on the human experience.
As a neurodivergent individual, I harness my ability for alternative thinking and push the boundaries of creativity and innovation in the realm of sound art
